#Pre-fall 2016

Pre-fall 2016 is here and this "pre-season" is one of the most important for fashion houses, these collections are responsible for most of the sales and they stay in stores for a long time.

I haven't been a fan of previous Chanel presentations, too excessive, too much show-off and too little design. My theory is that the spectacle is meant to divert ou attention from the flimsy clothes.

This Métiers d’Art collection is presented in different locations every year and this time was no different, the collection was shown in the black and white streets of Paris built in Rome, strange? Yes, but the allusion to the city of light was mandatory given the circumstances.

Once again the show was set and the models walked the runway but this time there was a different mood, a darker, cooler Chanel girl. The models hair and make-up looked a little like 80's groupies and that was a perfect contrast for the 40's Austrian vibe felt in some of the lacy dresses and wool suits.

Do I love some of these looks? Yes. Will they be stuck in my head for a long, long time? No... but I feel a change in the air for Chanel.

Shopping madness

Black Friday is a huge thing in Portugal, since last year. The last time I pretty much lost my head and shopped in three different Zara's and online. This time it was very different, I had a small list of things I wanted to buy and I was able to visit the stores I wanted early in the morning, avoiding most of the madness and hysteria.

I'm over these marketing strategies that end up creating anxiety and hysteria among customers. I'm all about discounts but I don't want to go through all of this to get a pair of boots and a dress.

That said, I went shopping the day before black friday and KIKO had jumped the gun and started their "3 for 3" campaing. I bought six items and only paid for three. Since it was the thursday before the Black-Friday stores were empty and displays full of products. Lucky me!

Messing with my life

Miu Miu keeps messing with my life.

#BoFVOICES STELLA MCCARTNEY

Business of Fashion or BoF, as it's better known, it's a daily resource for fashion creatives, it has replaced Vogue as the Bible. If you want to be up-to-date in all fashion matters you have to check BoF and all their amaizing content, I recommend that you explore their free online learning courses, but this post is about something else, BoFs Youtube Channel.

I've recently discovered it and I've become addicted. One of my favorite videos is the Stella McCartney interview for the launch of #BoFVOICES, I thought I knew the philosohy behind Stella's brand but their vision is much more complex then a simple leather ban. It's about the future, the evolution of fashion and the exploration of the paths that the industry has to take in order to survive.

For more on STELLA MCCARTNEYs sustainability commitment visit her website

"We take responsibility for operating a business and maintaining a supply chain the respects the planet as well as the people and animals on it."

"We will probably never be perfect, but you can rest assured that we are always trying."

"We think that being modern means considering the future, not just the future of design, but also the future of the planet."

Same thing every year...

Stores are darker and brighter from all the LBD and sequins that invaded the racks. I'm searching for the best option for NYE, since I'll be in a warmer weather all the velvets I love have to be put away... I'm also trying to stay away from black but I've told you before that I'm a recovering blackaholic.
