Turn up the lights in here baby...

This product will most likely never leave my make-up bag now that I´ve discovered it.

I'm one of those people that never really understood the importance of having an illuminator and that most of the times tought that the glow that some of the celebrities had in the red carpet pictures was a result of having an amazing skin and sometimes photoshop. Well, both of there things are true but the it is also true that the use of a good illuminator makes wonders. I was looking for this type of product but never really felt that I found the one perfect for me, either they were too shiny or the base color was to pink or white and the glow wasn't didn't match my skin color. Again, I decided to consult the beauty blogs and see what was their favorite product to bring light to the face.

Aparently the MAC Mineralize Skinfish in the color "Soft and Gentle" is a sort of "god" in the illuminators world. It's almost always sold-out but I was lucky to find it and I gotta say it really is light in powder form and even though it's very pigmented and shiny the result is as soft and gentle as promissed.

A new world, a Chanel world

So turning 25 made me stop and think that maybe, just maybe I should stop spending all my money on clothes and shoes and then complain that my foundation (bought in the supermarket) is making my skin too dry. I decided that the time came to invest in good products, specially those in such close contact with the skin in my face. I started to think about my necessities, such has having a foundation that is "user friendly", and by this I mean a foundation that wouldn't feel heavy on my face (something I really hate), that would last most of the day without melting away and that would be right for my skin type wich is the typical combination skin, normal in most areas except the T-zone that gets shinny throughout the day.

After being aware of my needs I started to research the products that existed that had everything I needed and were in my price range. To choose a specific product I started to read a lot of beauty blogs and vlogs so that I could find out their reviews of their favorite products. This was extremely useful because I started to reach the conclusion that most of these true experts had the same opinion about the best foundations to a combination skin.

The Chanel Perfection Lumiére was one of the most praised in the reviews so I decided to try out this one. When I arrived at the store and after expressing all my concearns regarding the selection of a foundation the employee told me that the Chanel Lumiére Velvet would do the same job and it actually costs less.

After she applied it on my face I was in love with the natural powdery matte finish it gave (has promissed) without hiding the natural glow of the skin. It's not a full coverage foundation but that's not what I was looking for anyway. However I was still fixed on trying out the much talked about Chanel Perfection Lumiére wich I did the next day and found no difference at all between the two, the same finish, the same lightweight feeling on my skin and the same durability. I still have to apply a little bit of powder in the T-zone just to prevent any shine but besides that I'm trully happy with my choice.

It's alive!

Yes, this blog is very much alive but in the last few weeks inspiration is nowhere to be seen. The only thing captivating my interest is the "beauty department" that, after years of neglect, I'm trying to invest in, so my days are spent searching for reviews of products and accessories and I've discovered a whole new world of blogs and bloggers and a huge range of products and accessories that I never new existed. So forgive me for the absence but I've decided a long time a go that this wouldn't be a "Beauty" blog so I'm trying to decide if I should talk about all the new discoveries that I'm making. Do you think I should do it? The truth is my reviews of products wouldn't be very useful because, like I told you, I'm a beginner in this sort of thing, the only thing I can say is what made me choose some of the products that I've recently purchased and the research I made until I found them.

Lets see how this goes.

Until then fashion will not be forgotten, has if that was possible, especially since we're are coming down to Paris Fashion Week. I'll leave you with the highlight of Milan Fashion Week, the Dolce and Gabbana Fall 2015 RTW, an homage to all the mothers out there.

Bags, Bags, Bags...

The two bags I would buy for Spring (and for the rest of my life) if I had 2000 and something euros to spend in bags.

NYFW# Jill Stuart

The New York designer proves that the trend of the summer (the 70's, for all you guys under a rock) can smoothly transition to winter clothes... The 70's will still be here when December arrives in the form of "A" line suede skirts, suede coats and turtlenecks. This is a collection that you easily live in all winter, at least I can.
