Last winter I was all about big chunky knits but this time around I'm investing in the opposite trend, the skinny turtleneck. I'll still wear my big, fluffy knits but I can't wait to style some outfits with this wardrobe staple.

These are some of the pieces catching my attention. The thin black scarf is already mine so now my priority will be this beautiful mustard vest and the amazing belted snake print shorts.

I'm mad

I'm mad because Zara made the perfect dress, the perfect silhouette, the perfect balance between a statement sleeve and simplicity. I loved the color, the cut out in the back and the detail of the string falling in the open back of the dress. I loved the dress until I tried it on.
I'm aware that I don't have the model figure but I never imagined that this dress in particular would be imcompatible with my body, nothing in the dress "rang the alarm" but has soon has I picked up the dress in the store my heart fell. It's a Knit dress, that kind of knit that sticks to your body in the most unflattering way possible making everyone, with the exception of Gisele, look bad. Sadness overwhelmed me because even though I hated to see myself in the dress I loved the sleeves so much. I played with them in the dressing room while I mentally said goodbye to this lovely ideia of a dress. The end.

The "Summer formula"

I would say that my summer uniform will reflect some of the decisions I made this last winter. I decided I would simplify, I would define my basic silhouette and buy lots of pieces that fit that silhouette. This meant I would loose less time in the morning deciding what to wear and I would eliminate those purchases of different items that I fell in love with but that didn't match anything I had in my closet, didn't match my personal style and would end up on a hanger in my closet. This way you're perfecting your own style and you will look and feel more focused.

So, what will be my summer look? Well, my formula will be this one:

I always feel I need simple basic tops and cool bottoms to face the "hot" season.  When I'm using intricate tops, with fancy fabrics and details I feel stuffed and overheated.

Zara has amazing basics that most people often forget to check out. The best thing is that you can buy any of these tops for less than 20€ and easily put a look together, for day and night. 

Yes, we're dating!

I have a feeling in a matter of a week or two it will be ok to start wearing sandals, or maybe it will rain as if the world is ending but I'll be wearing sandals anyway, ok? It's May Mr. Weather, wake the f*** up!

In order to be prepared for this seasonal change, from heavy boots to light strappy sandals, we have to be aware that the first few weeks will be utter torture. Your feet have forgotten how the straps from sandals can carve into your skin and originate open wounds that will take all summer to heal and they also have forgotten how to walk in shoes that are weightless, so you will walk like a duck in the first few days. To be honest, these are the least of your problems because you will only be able to think about how white your feet got since you last saw them in daylight, last October, they now reflect the sunlight and feel like they don't belong to the rest of your body.

To overcome all these problems you have to encourage your feet to "date" as many summer shoes as possible. These are my dates right now, We've been seeing each other a few times but nothing too serious for now... I'm not ready for a commitment.

Well I tought I would never say write this but the truth is that I'm loving juta sandals and the brown ones will live in my house in a near future. I can already imagine them with boho-dresses or high waisted indigo jeans and that thought makes me quite happy.
