Oral obsession

Well Winter is coming (cough, cough) and I feel the need for lipstick. The cold months make me become addicted to lip products because my lips get so dry that is really uncomnfortable to not wear anything. 

These are some colours that I'm leaning towards for this season, I selected a few lipsticks and lip glosses with different finishes (matte, satin, glossy) so that you can achieve multiple looks with the same color. 

You can find some of these brands in Sephora and others online, you can check swatches from these colors online so that you know what you're getting.

Last winter I was all about big chunky knits but this time around I'm investing in the opposite trend, the skinny turtleneck. I'll still wear my big, fluffy knits but I can't wait to style some outfits with this wardrobe staple.

 I'm starting with this basic neoprene knit from Zara.

TOPSHOP

I'm not a huge Topshop buyer because there are types of clothes that I still prefer to try out before buying and for now Topshop is only available online in Portugal. You can't argue that they have some pretty awesome clothes and accessories. 

These are 5 things I would buy but there are like 500 more I would take home in a heart beat. The shirt has an amazing color and retro print, the bag is also a retro staple essencial for this season. The boots, well the boots are just a dream. They are Gucci inspired, like these one's from Zara, but I think this color makes them more special. This skirt is the perfect fit for those big, chunky sweaters. Finally,the trench is present in every fall collection from every brand, I already bought one from H&M and I love it but this faded yellow one should also live in my closet.

The time has come for the fashion community to break down our style era in two moments: the B.S.S (Before Stan Smith) and the A.S.S. (After Stan Smith). Right now we're in a transition period, the Stan Smith is still the sneaker you have to own, that you can wear with every look and in every ocasion but fashionistas are looking to the future. Everywhere in the world the  and are trying to gather some clues about the next product that will ressurect from the ashes and conquer the feet of the fashion world.

I'm starting this "5 things" thing.
 I'll show you five things that I have to have from the fall collections. Today we're starting with a brand that I don't usually wear, we often get "tunnel vision" and all we see is ZARAAAA but I'm trying to end that, there are other brands in the world besides Zara, altough they´re all sisters froms the same mother inditex rules the world.
I know it's hard to believe but you have to trust me.

Stradivarius

The dress and cardigan will be mine, you don't let "Missoni inspired" items of clothes pass by, you try them on and buy them, since Missoni is still out of my reach this will have to do. The corduroy vest is a staple for any look and is incredibly cool and cheap (12.95€), Zara has a similar one for twice the price. 

The suede jacket was left out from my shopping list from last fall so this time I have no excuse. I find that Mango and Stradivarius have the best suede jackets if you don't want to spend a lot of money getting one from Zara or other stores.

The bow shirt is EVERYWHERE. This one looks great and it has a good price.

A special place

So I just showed you some of my favorite collections from the Resort 2016 season but I have to admit that some looks have a special place in my heart.
First things firts, let's talk abou Gucci, I'm obsessed with the "retro-coolness" they presented us with in their show.

All I can hope is that this means the beret is back, we've seen the return of the turbant and the fedora now it's time for the french classic to make a come back.

Culottes, cool or not?

A: COOL

This style of pants are a bonefied way to "coolify" your outfit. They are here to replace the "midi skirt" from the closets of fashionistas. Fools are those who believe that these pants can only work if you're as tall as a tree and as slim as a branch, not true! It's all about pro-por-tion! If you're not that tall you can still wear the culotte you just have to be aware of two things:

- where the hem hits you

- the shoes you're wearing

First, the hem can't be so long that you loose most of your leg, the shorter it is the better it looks. Shorter girls won't be able to wear their cullotes of-the-rack, they'll have to take their pants to the seamstress to shorten them.

Second, try to wear heels, I repeat, TRY to wear heels, it gives you height, makes your legs look longer and there's nothing wrong about that.... well there is... heels suck in the day-to-day life and the culottes should be worn everyday so you can and should try to introduce specific flats to this look, just choose those that don't cover your feet so that you show the most skin possible.

p.s - I have bought these pants, I'm short and I've worn mine with sneakers so... nevermind fuck these rules.
